Electrical troubleshooting & repair

Something’s wrong.
Let’s find the cause.

You don’t need to diagnose the problem before calling. Tell us what stopped working, where it happens and what you’ve noticed. We’ll check the affected circuit and explain the repair it needs.

  • Power is out in one room or part of the house
  • A breaker keeps tripping or a GFCI won’t reset
  • Lights flicker, or an outlet has stopped working
  • A switch, outlet or panel needs urgent attention

If there’s an immediate hazard

For smoke or fire, leave the area and call 911. Stay clear of a sparking or hot electrical device. Tell us about urgent problems when you call so we can confirm availability and the next step.

Before the new appliance arrives

Plan for the power
you’re about to need.

Adding an EV charger, induction range, heat pump or new living space? Check the electrical requirements early, while there’s still time to choose a practical route for the wiring.

  1. Start with the equipment

The appliance or charger specifications tell us what circuit it needs. Its location helps determine the wiring route and how much access the work will require.

  2. Check the existing system

Available breaker spaces are only part of the picture. We assess the panel, service capacity and expected electrical load before recommending changes.

  3. Agree on the scope

A dedicated circuit may be enough; some projects also need a subpanel or service upgrade. Discuss permit requirements, utility coordination and any planned power interruption before the work begins.

Questions about
electrical work.

Have a question about your own electrical system? Call (916) 776-8689 and tell us what you’re working with.

Do you take small electrical repair jobs?

Yes. You can contact Solir Electric for a faulty outlet, a switch problem, a light fixture replacement or a breaker that keeps tripping. Describe the issue when you call so we can discuss the service you need.

Can you help with an urgent electrical problem?

Call us and explain what’s happening. We’ll confirm availability and discuss the next step. For smoke, fire or an immediate danger, leave the area and call 911. Don’t touch sparking equipment or keep resetting a breaker that trips.

Will an EV charger require a panel upgrade?

It depends on your existing electrical load, service capacity and the charger you choose. Some homes can support a new dedicated circuit without replacing the panel. We assess the system before recommending an upgrade. Learn about home EV charging.

How much will the electrical work cost?

The scope, equipment, wiring distance and access all affect the price. Troubleshooting may require a visit to identify the cause before a repair can be priced. Tell us about the job and request an estimate; ask what’s included and whether a diagnostic or service-call fee applies.

Will my project need a permit or inspection?

That depends on the work and the authority responsible for your address. Panel changes, new circuits and other alterations can involve permits and inspections. We’ll discuss the requirements for your project, including who will arrange permits and any utility coordination, as part of the scope.

Do you work on commercial properties?

Yes. We take on electrical repairs, lighting, equipment circuits and other installation work for Sacramento businesses. Tell us about the property, operating hours and any access requirements so we can discuss a suitable plan.

How should I prepare for an electrician’s visit?

Make a short list of the problems or changes you want checked. Keep the panel and work area accessible if it’s safe to do so. Have appliance or charger specifications ready if they’re relevant. Leave panel covers and electrical devices in place for the electrician.

Is Solir Electric licensed in California?

Yes. Solir Electric Inc holds California C-10 electrical contractor license #1109744. You can check the current license record on the California Contractors State License Board website.
