Give the equipment the supply it needs
Dedicated circuit installation in Sacramento
A new appliance or a breaker that trips whenever two devices run together can expose the limits of an existing circuit. Solir Electric installs dedicated electrical circuits in Sacramento after checking the equipment requirements, available capacity and practical wiring route.

What does a dedicated circuit change?
A dedicated branch circuit supplies the equipment assigned to it without sharing that circuit with unrelated loads. That can be important when an appliance’s installation instructions call for its own circuit or when an existing arrangement does not suit the equipment.
The work usually involves a suitable breaker, conductors and an appropriate connection at the equipment. The entire circuit has to match the load and applicable requirements. Adding a receptacle to an overloaded circuit does not give that circuit more capacity.
A breaker trip still needs a diagnosis
A shared load is one possible reason for repeated trips. A defective appliance or wiring fault is another. If the problem is new or unexplained, electrical troubleshooting can establish the cause before a new circuit is proposed.
Start with the exact appliance or equipment
Send the model number and a photo of the electrical nameplate. Include the installation instructions if you have them. “A dryer circuit” or “a workshop outlet” leaves important details open. Even equipment with a similar purpose can require a different voltage, current, plug or connection method.
| Equipment or project | Details to establish |
|---|---|
| Range, cooktop or wall oven | The selected model’s electrical load, supply requirements, location and connection instructions. |
| Dryer or laundry equipment | The equipment type, compatible connection, existing circuit condition and laundry layout. |
| Water heating, heating or cooling equipment | The unit specifications and the division of work with the mechanical or plumbing contractor. |
| Workshop or business equipment | Voltage, phase where relevant, operating load, starting needs and intended position. |
| EV charging | The vehicle, charger, output setting, circuit route and any load management requirements. |
Check upstream capacity
An empty breaker space is only the beginning
We check the panel and the existing loads before adding another circuit. Available circuit positions, panel capacity and service capacity are separate questions. The selected breaker also needs to be appropriate for the panel and the type of circuit.
If the existing equipment is unsuitable or capacity is limited, the options may include a different equipment choice, a suitable management approach or panel and service work. We recommend the work that the assessment supports.
A subpanel can provide a practical point for several circuits in a distant area when the upstream system can support it. It does not create more utility capacity. For one appliance near the existing panel, a direct circuit may be the more appropriate scope.
Tell us about other additions you expect soon. Planning a kitchen appliance, charger and workshop together gives us the full load picture before a route or distribution arrangement is chosen.
The route can be the biggest part of the job
A nearby panel and an accessible wall create a different project from a circuit crossing a finished home or reaching a detached building. We consider the path, mounting surface and protection needed for the cable or conduit, including the final connection location.
Attic and crawlspace access, concrete, exterior exposure and finished walls can affect labor and materials. The estimate should identify expected openings and any excavation or separate finish restoration. Decide the equipment’s final location before the route is installed.
The new connection must also leave room to use and service the equipment according to its instructions. A socket hidden behind fixed cabinetry may look tidy on a plan but needs its accessibility checked. The same applies to required disconnecting equipment.
Define the circuit from panel to equipment
A useful proposal identifies the equipment served, circuit route, connection type, required protection and any work at the panel. It should also state who supplies the appliance, who makes its final connection and whether another trade’s work must happen first.
Permits and inspections depend on the address and electrical scope. A new circuit can require review even when the existing panel stays in place. If the service changes, utility coordination may become a separate part of the project.
Once the work is installed, the circuit needs appropriate checks and clear identification. Any product settings that limit load, such as an EV charger’s configured output, must match the installed circuit. Testing the electrical supply does not replace the appliance manufacturer’s startup procedure.
Cost depends on the route length and access, equipment requirements, panel work, protection and finish repairs. We can discuss those items once the equipment and location are known, rather than pricing every dedicated circuit as the same job.
Before you book
Adding power for your equipment
Does my appliance really need its own circuit?
The appliance’s installation instructions and applicable electrical requirements determine that, along with the load and existing circuit arrangement. Send the exact model information. A dedicated circuit may be appropriate even when the appliance physically plugs into an existing outlet.
Can you change a 120-volt outlet to 240 volts?
The whole circuit needs assessment. Conductors, grounding, protection, other connected outlets and the equipment requirements all matter. Changing only the receptacle face does not make a circuit suitable for a different voltage or load.
Will a dedicated circuit stop my breaker from tripping?
It can resolve an unsuitable shared-load arrangement when that is the cause. It will not cure a defective appliance or damaged wiring elsewhere. A recurring trip should be diagnosed so the new work addresses the actual problem.
Do I need a panel upgrade to add one circuit?
Not always. We check available capacity, circuit spaces and equipment condition. If the present system can support the circuit, a service upgrade may be unnecessary. A subpanel or other work needs its own reason.
Can you run power to a detached garage or workshop?
Contact us with the distance, equipment needs and possible route. A single circuit and a feeder serving several workshop circuits are different scopes. Trenching, existing infrastructure and local requirements affect what is practical.
