Know what is being checked
Accessible conditions, relevant testing and clear limits
Depending on the agreed scope, the assessment may cover the service and panel, visible wiring, selected receptacles and switches, grounding and bonding, and the protection serving particular locations. Access and the reason for the visit determine which checks are practical.
A visual review can identify visible damage or unsuitable alterations. Electrical testing can answer specific questions about the installation, but no visit can establish the condition of every concealed connection inside finished walls.
We explain areas that could not be accessed and any further investigation needed. Opening finishes, tracing intermittent faults or evaluating specialized equipment can require a separate scope. An inspection should not imply those tasks happened when they did not.
